Bladder control problems affect between 10 - 50% of all women. While it is common, it is never normal. The Urogynecology Center is a practice dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of women with leakage of urine. The first step in treating your problem is understanding why you leak urine. That requires a careful history and a thorough examination. Then both surgical and nonsurgical options will be reviewed. Dr. Charles Butrick was one of 10 physicians in the United States chosen in 1997 to go to Sweden and train with the developer of the TVT sling―the gold standard in the surgical management of incontinence.
Pelvic organ prolapse affects millions of women. Only 20% of these women will see a clinician sometime in their life for the symptoms of fallen bladder, prolapsed uterus or difficulty passing stool. These problems cause an annoying feeling of pressure or bulge that you do not need to put up with any longer. Both surgical and non-surgical therapies are available. The surgeries done by an advanced pelvic surgeon like Dr. Butrick are highly successful and are frequently minimally invasive procedures with a fast recovery.
Pelvic pain affects over 20% of women in the United States. Don’t suffer in silence! Missing work, avoiding sex and constantly feeling like you need to urinate is something you shouldn’t have to live with. As one of the founders of the International Pelvic Pain Society (IPPS), Dr. Butrick has spoken around the world trying to help patients with chronic pelvic pain. He has multiple publications in this area.
Our mission at the Urogynecology Center is to provide the highest level of care possible for women with incontinence, pelvic pain and/or pelvic organ prolapse. We provide this care in an individualized and highly compassionate manner, always keeping the needs of the patient in the forefront.
